Emollient

Emollient herbs soften, soothe and protect the skin. They are used externally and have a similar role for the skin as Demulcents have internally. Demulcent

Demulcent herbs are rich in mucilage and can soothe and protect irritated or inflamed internal tissue. When they are used on the skin they are called emollients. Antioxidant

Antioxidants are substances that can prevent or slow damage to cells caused by free radicals, unstable molecules that the body produces as a reaction to environmental and other pressures. Hemostatic
